Paul Russell piping in Lusk Community Cultural Centre on 18th November on the restored pipes of William Meehan as part of Fingal Inclusion Week. After 90 years in storage the bagpipes have been restored by the Black Raven Pipe Band in cooperation with the Meehan family, who were present to mark this historic event. William Meehan joined the Irish Volunteers in 1913 and subsequently fought in the 1916 Rising in both the GPO and the Mendicity Institute. William was part of the Fingal 5th Battalion and is listed on our 1916 Memorial plaque.
